Alberta Ferreti Macy’s Impulse Collection

“The collection I created is fresh and bright, featuring light summer clothing that evokes the spirit of my beautiful country and is at the same time true to my style.”

Alberta Ferretti as told to Womens Wear Daily

Alberta’s aesthetic is feminine, ethereal and flirty. It is impossible not to appeal to women. I love her clothes and I know Macy’s is the underdog with their designer Collections but the truth is they are getting the best designers. I don’t even know how this managed to slip me. I mean, Doo Ri!

The Alberta Ferreti Impulse Collection is targeted to a fairly mature demographic (26-29) which is a good thing as most collaborative lines are targeted to a much younger demo.

Target for example constructs junior sizes which I find so absurd especially as their marketing targets an older audience!

The line ranges from $49-$119 and includes sweaters, satin dresses, party dresses, day dresses, peasant blouses basically what we have come to expect from Alberta as a designer but in affordable fabrics and prices.

Statement Bag of the Week(end): Reed Krakoff Boxer

The Boxer...I love this name and this bag is definitely a statement.

Reed Krakoff’s boxer is wonderfully crafted and I love that all the details of the bag are made available to you on the website. It is almost as if the Krakoff team is saying we did it right! We have made the best looking utilitarian-chic tote just for you. In case you are thinking this bag is jogging your memory to the image of strength and sports. It may be due in part to the tie detailing inspired by the boxer’s tape and the tough no-nonsense closures on the flap. This is definitely a weekend bag and at  835 pounds. It is a classic that will be the perfect bag for seasons to come.

Statement Bag of the Week-end: Intrecciato Bellisima

Perfect Weekend Bag...Bottega also gives you great craftsmanship and beautiful leather options.

Statement Shoe of the Day: Tory Burch

Super Gorge in my fave colour olive green to boot. Tory Burch Verona is the perfect sandal to create weekend glam.

Statement Shoe of the Day: What was I thinkinggggg? gypsyz by GYPSY

I Love's so weird.

I’m really sure this is not my style on a typical day but I adore prints and knitwear. I can just imagine myself in them for an afternoon stroll through Central Park with a cute short dress and a cotton trench. They’ve got just the right amount of college preppiness exuding from them to excite me. 🙂

Statement Bag of the Day: A Rebecca Minkoff Royal Blue YUM

It is cute and simple...kinda reminds me of a lower end Bottega-esque bag.

Love this little clutch from Revolve Clothing by one of the most underrated accessories designer Rebecca Minkoff. I think she designs really cool, classy and uptown bags with a downtown price. This royal blue ditty is no exception with it’s cute fringe tassle. Available at the featured E-tailer today

Weekend Style Picks: Afternoon Party

Soooo, my lovely readers the ASOS US site is officially open! *crowd roars* Shipping to the Caribbean and Latin America made easier. I’m extremely excited about this and in honour of the great news I am dedicating my weekend style picks to ASOS’s expansion. Each look was pulled from the site and each image will direct you on over so you can check it out for yourself.

I started with a dress…in love with this one shoulder slinky ditty and decided to go  with leather accents to highlight the lovely yellows and oranges in the fabric. Included in the mx is a buggy arm cuff and some retro cool owl studs (clearly im not over my insects as jewellery phase). The floral clutch has the most amazing snake detailing and accentuate the shoes perfectly.

The site is amazing missing only the size search bar which is included in the UK site.

So Go on Over and Check it Out! This is perfect for us on the western side of the planet.

Weekend Style Picks: Let’s Party

Hey! Hope your weekend is going fabulously. Mine is not! Just lost all my (un-backed up) contacts while upgrading my Blackberry Messenger. So big boo and let’s get back to fashion. This weekend I wanted to do a fancy party. As usual this process took just as long to put together as ever. When you have the gargantuan number of choices of shoes, clothes, accessories, etc. that are available on the interweb…it is like a fat kid and cake for me. Sensory overload and I want it all.

So I splurged on two things the shoes by my absolute fave footwear designer Danish wunder Camilla Skovgaard (No words. I love her.) and a glitter Marano clutch by Anya Hindmarch. The Marano clutch is the ultimate cocktail bag. I used the glass mirrored clutch before with a my date night ensemble.

I went cheap chic on the accessories all from one of my fave retailers: ASOS. They are perfect for mixing high and low-end together. Their catalogue is trendy.  Recently I’ve been fascinated by jewellery that looks like or is inspired by medieval armour.  This lends to the theme of the pieces chosen…. subtle but strong.

The dress is a monochrome mini by Alice and Olivia. I think it has quite a lovely set of bondage/zipper detail in the back and the right amount of wow factor. You can’t go wrong in this dress. It is eye-catching.

As usual all pieces are linked to a reputable retailer. So if you like what you see click on over and purchase.
