Fashion Straight Up!’s NBCAM Awareness: WEDNESDAY Pink Item of the Day

Based on rates from 2005-2007, 12.15% of women born today will be diagnosed with cancer of the breast at some time during their lifetime. This number can also be expressed as 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with cancer of the breast during their lifetime.

Today’s Pink Item is an asymmetrical frill dress from Topshop! Love. This dress is so feminine, sweet and most of all PINK. Show your support this month and pick out special pink items which I have personally selected with love. Remember the degree of separation between you and someone diagnosed with breast cancer is never too far.

Support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) educates women about the importance of early detection for breast cancer. Since NBCAM’s inception, mammography use has doubled, and breast cancer death rates have declined. Still, many women do not utilize mammography at regular intervals. In recognition of the fact that mammography is the best available method of detecting breast changes that may be cancer, long before physical symptoms can be seen or felt, and that breast cancer deaths could decline further if all women age 40 and older received mammograms at regular intervals. Fashion Straight Up! Blog , does hereby proclaim October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  I urge all women and their families in around the world to get the facts about mammography.
