STYLE I.D: Bohemian Chic

This is my favourite personal style identification of them all. It eludes to a sense of comfort, earthy freedom and accessibility that you envy whatever free will message the person wearing it seems to be sending.

I started with Boho because it is closest to my personal style aesthetic.

Boho Chic was popularised in Spring 2005 COOLections and remained a street trend for about 4 years. Officially dieing out with the emergence of the 80s trends in 2008. It’s celeb style-stalwarts while it was trending include Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Nicole Richie and Mary-Kate Olsen.

However as far as style I.D goes Nicole Richie and Kate Moss have adopted it to their continuous personal style identification and to this day display elements of bohemian chicness in their dress.

This look was based on the looks of the hippies of the 1960s and gypsies of the early twentieth century who travelled the central European territories.

Features of the Look:
Gypsy skirts
Peasant tops
Floral prints
Paisley
Cloth sandals
Worn jeans
Natural fibers (cotton, linen, denim-distressed)
Billowy clothes
Uggs

I recognise from observing spring
2010 trends there is a place for the look. Marks and Spencer deemed it a “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

What’s your style I.D. ?
To Boheme or not Boheme? That is the question.
